About this project​

The base​

The suburban railway network in Madrid is maintained by Renfe, called "Cercanías Madrid". On Catalonia, the suburban railway is called Rodalies de Catalunya, it has quite a different branding than "Cercanías" which operates in Madrid, alongside other spanish cities such as Valencia, Bilbao, Zaragoza, etc.

The fun thing about this map is that it shows the "Cercanías Madrid" railway network but with the "Rodalies de Catalunya" branding, perfectly usable to plan a quick trip.

For some users, this map may look "weird", but stations, line names and colours stay the same, except Sol and Recoletos, which is a reference to Arc de Triomf and Passeig de Gracia Barcelona stations. In later, these names have been replaced with original Madrid station names.
